Swimmer of the week: Logan!

Logan swimming

This week’s swimmer of the week is Logan! In spite of his ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder Logan has been able to overcome many obstacles and learn SO much. To put this in perspective, Logan has come to learn how to swim front crawl by physically learning how to lift up his arm and rotate it in a circle. Each week he would practice his rotations until he could try it in the water. Now Logan can swim front crawl across the pool!

Logan Swimming

One of Logan’s biggest obstacles he’s overcome has been his anxiety and fear of jumping into the pool. With baby steps, gradual progression and some regression along the way, Logan can now jump into the deep end pool all by himself! Amazing!!

Logan has grown to become such a strong swimmer physically and mentally! His mother adds“We still cannot believe the progress Logan makes on a weekly basis …We highly recommend K&K Swim School to everyone, but especially for those with any sort of challenge.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for teaching our Logan how to swim.  We are so proud of you Logan!” Way to go Logan, you are such an inspiration!

Swimmer of the week: Kolten!

Kolten swimming

This week’s swimmer of the week is Kolton! Kolton shows up to his lesson every Sunday morning with a great attitude to learn and give it his best! At only six years old Kolton can swim two laps of a 25 metre pool with perfect front crawl and execute a flip turn on the wall to continue back to the other side. Not bad for a little boy who couldn’t even put his face in the water two years ago!

Fast forward to today and Kolton has learned all four strokes and can transition from one to the other so beautifully. Kolton’s mom adds that eventually he wants to go into competitive swimming, “We are incredibly proud of his swimming skills and look forward to what the future holds.  He talks about winning medals one day and we get excited thinking about the possibility.”

With Kolton’s determination and mature work ethic he proves that consistent practice pays off! Way to go Kolton!!!

Swimmer of the week: Brady!

Brady Swimming

Brady as been with K & K Swim School for over a year. “It wasn’t such an easy start” according to his mother Jeanette. “Brady started with K &K swim school when he was two years old. Not gonna lie it was a tough few sessions, he would start off crying for the first 10 minutes or the whole thing, would even make himself throw up a few times. It wasn’t because he hated it, its he wanted me in the pool with him. But we stuck with it because we kept seeing improvement each time…”

Now instead of crying, Brady talks and laughs his whole lesson. He loves jumping in the pool, swimming by himself on his front or back and swimming down to the bottom of the pool to pick up his favourite toys!

Brady’s mom adds that putting Brady in K & K Swim School was the best investment she every made simply for the fact that “if he was ever in trouble for whatever reason in the water, he would be able to swim to the edge to safety and that’s our #1 goal!!”

We’re so proud of you Brady!!
